May Day is celebrated in Quincy.

Led by Thomas Morton, the settlers of what was then Merrymount erect a maypole and celebrate a traditional and bawdy English May Day celebration. They invite Native American men and women to join them in dancing and singing. The action scandalizes the settlers at New Plymouth.
